Privacy Policy

The short version.

Drawtone is an instrument, not a service. It has no account, no backend and no network calls of its own. What you draw, the sound it makes and the files you export all stay on your iPhone until you decide to send them somewhere. We do not collect personal data, we run no analytics and we show no advertising — and the app asks for no system permissions at all.

01 Who this is about

This policy covers the iPhone app Drawtone and this website. It is written in plain language on purpose; if any part of it is unclear, email loopiosoftware@gmail.com and you will get a straight answer.

02 What we collect

Nothing. There is no sign-up, no profile, no device identifier we read, and no event we record. Specifically, the app does not collect:

  • your name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail;
  • the drawings you make, the settings you choose, or the audio the app produces;
  • your location, your contacts, your photos, your microphone or your camera;
  • advertising identifiers, device fingerprints or usage analytics of any kind.

There is no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK inside the app. If you have turned on “Share With App Developers” in iOS, Apple may pass us aggregated, anonymous crash and performance statistics. That is Apple's mechanism, not ours, we receive it in aggregate only, and you can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time.

03 What stays on your device

The app keeps a small amount of state on the iPhone itself, where only the app can read it:

  • Your drawing. The lines you have drawn, so the page is still there the next time you open the app.
  • Your settings. Key, scale, range, octave, echo, tempo, rhythm, swing, quantising, language and the ink you last used — stored through the standard iOS preferences store.
  • Exported files. A WAV or MIDI file is written into the app's own storage so that iOS can hand it to the share sheet.

None of this is transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app removes all of it from your device.

04 Permissions

Drawtone requests no system permissions. It does not use the camera, the microphone, the photo library, location services, contacts, Bluetooth or the network. It plays audio through the standard iOS audio session, and that requires no permission from you.

05 Exports and sharing

When you export a loop as WAV or MIDI, the file is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next — Messages, Mail, Files, a cloud drive, another music app — is entirely your choice, and from that point the destination's own terms apply. We are not part of that exchange and never see the file.

06 Third parties

There are no third-party services embedded in the app. Two edges involve someone other than you, and both are actions you take:

  • The App Store. Downloading the app, rating it, and any purchase in a future version run through Apple's own systems and are covered by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We receive no personal data from Apple.
  • The share sheet. Described in section 05 — the moment you send a file, it is handled by wherever you sent it.

07 This website

This site is a set of static pages hosted on Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Like any web host, Firebase's servers process standard request data such as IP address and user agent in order to deliver the page and protect the service; see the Firebase privacy documentation for details.

08 If you write to us

If you email support or ask to be notified at launch, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you or to send that one launch email. Those addresses are never used for a mailing list, never sold, and never passed to anyone else. Ask us to delete your message and we will.

09 Children

Drawtone is a general-purpose musical instrument and is not directed at children specifically, though there is nothing in it that would be unsuitable for one. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

10 Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK give you the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to hand over or erase — apart from an email you may have sent us, which we will delete on request. Your drawings and exports are on your own device and already under your direct control. If you would like written confirmation of any of this for your records, email us and you will get it.

11 Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for instance if sharing a drawing by link or an optional backup arrives in a later version — we will update this page, change the date at the top, and describe the change here in plain language before it applies to you.
